These are my latest boxes. Above, a carved box in the style found in 17th century New England. Below, nesting Shaker oval boxes. All of these boxes are made of cherry.
John, they are copper tacks. Traditionally, the swallowtails are fastened with copper tacks and the top and bottom are pinned with wooden pegs. I used copper tacks around the top and bottom instead of the wooden pegs.

Very cool. Are those copper rivets on the nesting boxes? I love the one with Mariana studying the carving.
