Houston Arboretum

This morning, after the usual trip to the Saturday farmers' market, I took Quincy on a walk around the Houston Arboretum.

In downtown Houston there is a huge park called Memorial Park. The Arboretum is a segment of that park, with its own trails.

I like finding things like this in odd places. It doesn't really look like the Houston most people see on a daily basis.

Thanks for posting that. You're right--that's not what I would have expected to see in Houston. I love the turtles on the log.

Ted, tell Jenny this is the park I mentioned to her when we visited the Golden Gate park. She said something like she wished Houston had something like the GG park. MP is where a lot of people use to go walking and jogging and lots of oher outdoor activities. Thank you for sharing these pictures. Very nice.
