America's Most Contaminated Nuclear Site Becomes National Historic Landmark
The B Reactor at Hanford, WA
A news piece of mine titled America's Most Contaminated Nuclear Site Becomes National Historic Landmark was just posted by Ethical Traveler.
The Hanford B reactor, in Washington state, supplied the plutonium for the bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. It, along with 8 other reactors, were built near the Columbia River. Unfortunately, we didn’t store our nuclear waste very well back then.

National Geographic wants to know my camera settings...
So, about a month ago, a lady from National Geographic emailed me. They have a blog called Intelligent Travel. She wanted to post one of my photos on it.
She wanted the background information behind the shot - what is happening, where I was, camera settings.
Camera settings? I don't know anything about photography. I have a basic digital camera. I just the button on top. Then, I pick out the ones that turned out okay. Done.
So, I just told her what kind of camera I used. She never wrote back. And for weeks afterward I checked the website often to see if they had posted my photo.
I had started to suspect that they had changed their mind after finding out that I had no idea what I was doing.
But, today, it appeared!

I just found out that a guy I knew in high school is at the Beijing Olympics.
Doug Schwab is representing the U.S. in freestyle wrestling at 66kgs (145.5 lbs).
We is wrestling in the early A.M. tonight (Texas and Iowa time). If you are awake, then cheer him on.

I have successfully completed my first week at ExxonMobil. So far its has been great! I am settling in to my office, which has a window (bonus!). I haven't really done anything too exciting, mainly training. I hope to start getting into projects soon.

1998 Osage High School Class Reunion
I didn't go to my 10 year class reunion, but I have seen a bunch of the photos. For the family and friends from Osage, see how many of these people you can identify.

Cymbeline
Bill and Maria were kind enough to invite us out for dinner and a play tonight. We just got back from seeing Shakespeare's Cymbeline.
It was an outdoor show at the Miller Outdoor Theatre, presented by the Houston Shakespeare Festival.
