A news piece of mine titled America's Most Contaminated Nuclear Site Becomes National Historic Landmark was just posted by Ethical Traveler.

The Hanford B reactor, in Washington state, supplied the plutonium for the bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. It, along with 8 other reactors, were built near the Columbia River. Unfortunately, we didn’t store our nuclear waste very well back then.
