Churning lots o' butter.

A couple weeks ago (during the power outage), we decided to make butter. It was pretty amazing stuff. It was so light and fluffy and FRESH.

When you make butter you also get buttermilk, which you drain off the butter. I saved this buttermilk and made buttermilk pancakes the next morning. This is true buttermilk, unlike the thick milk product sold in stores as "buttermilk". That stuff was developed to have the same baking properties, but it tastes very different.
