Hurricane Isaac
Hurricane Isaac is headed this way. The projected track has been shown to the east and to the west of our house. So, it looks like we may see the center of the storm.
The hurricane isn't as strong as the last one we experienced, which also passed directly over us.
Evacuations haven't been announced, and we plan to shelter in place.
Electricity and cell phone coverage will be dicey for a few days at least, but I'll post again when I get a chance.

Foggy Kayaking with Mariana
I took Mariana kayaking again this morning. It was foggy, but we still saw plenty of birds. She was a little disappointed that we couldn't find any turtles though.
She likes trying to paddle, even though it is too hard for her. So, I let her hold the paddle when I am taking photos.

Mariana's Desk
I made a small desk for Mariana. It was a simple project - pine and poplar boards painted a barn red. She seems to like it.

Canning Pears and Etc.
One of Jenny's co-workers gave her 40 lbs. of pears the other day. So this weekend I canned them all; some in the form of pear sauce.
It has been raining here a lot this month. Mariana still gets out to play.
More practicing carving. I bought a bunch of cherry the other day. My plan is to make some cherry boxes with carvings like this wrapping around the sides.
Jenny bought these silly matching Dr Seuss aprons.
A Santa/Wizard in a nightcap.
