Jenny's Footstool
Jenny is shorter than me, and she is more comfortable elevating her feet a little while sitting in our dining chairs.
So, I made her a low footstool. I shaped everything by hand, didn't measure anything, and didn't use plans. And I don't think I screwed it up too much.
It is made of maple and padauk. The padauk starts out red, but it will darken as it ages.

Toddler Bed
The super-cool crib that Mariana's Opa (AKA John Meynink) built converts to a toddler bed. We converted it last weekend, and Mariana loves it. She can climb in and out all by herself.
According to what we've read, most kids don't sleep in toddler beds this young. However, we caught Mariana climbing over the rails, and we didn't want her hurting herself. So far, it has worked out great. She stays in the bed all night without any wandering around.

Above: We spent part of our long weekend at the Moody Gardens aquarium. Mariana loved it. Also, Mariana is wearing an outfit that her mommy handmade for her, because her mommy is awesome.
