Prizes at the top: Cuenca, Ecuador
A greased pole, Cuenca, Ecuador from Theodore Scott on Vimeo.
On one New Year's Eve, I watched kids in Cuenca, Ecuador, try to climb a greased pole. At the top are prizes they can keep if they can grab them.

Nikon D90
On the post that mentioned my new camera, antonieta1954 commented, "Please post the information of the camara".
The picture above is the same camera and lens that I purchased. It is a Nikon D90 DX Digital SLR. If you are really curious, and know a little about cameras, the lens I bought is the 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens.
This is my first SLR (although Jenny has a film SLR - she's old school like that). Moving up from a point-and-shoot is something I have been looking forward to for a long time. Now, I have to learn how to use it!
I want to pick up some prime lenses, but that can wait. I want to get a lot of experience with the camera before I go buy anything else. Plus, I drained my writing paychecks for this (I think of the money I make with freelance writing as "mad money") and I need to build up some more.

Living Room
By the way, I finished building the shelves in my living room. Jenny and I both painted them a couple weeks ago. We also bought a new TV and put it above the fireplace.
So, now I am looking for a new project. Jenny is requesting a shelving unit for one of our closets.

New Camera
My new camera arrived today. So, of course, I took some photos of Quincy. Click on them for the big versions.

In London
Hello everyone,
Ted told you that I left for the United Kingdom Sunday evening, well I have been here for just over a day and it has been delightful. The chemical plant I have been working at is in South Hampton an area south west of London. This area is in a national park and the towns are quaint just like you would imagine out of a story with thatched roofs and all.
I will be spending a few more days here and be heading home Friday morning.

Jenny -> England
Tonight I dropped Jenny off at the airport. She is going to England for a week (for her job). It is her first time flying first class. She will be staying at Careys Manor.
Hopefully, she won't be working the whole time. The hotel is in a forested national park, and she isn't that far from Stonehenge.
Later this month, Jenny is going to San Francisco. Then, in April, we are both going to Roatan. In May or June, she might be heading back to England again.

Jenny's New Bike
A week ago, we bought Jenny a new bike. She has a road bike, but she wanted a more comfortable and casual bike. She is pretty pleased with it. We went on a couple bike rides. Plus, during one of my evening runs this last week, she rode along side me - which made me feel really slow.

Roatan

Next month, Jenny and I are going to visit this island off the coast of Honduras. Zoom out to get a better idea of where it is in the world.

My dog is a wimp.
This bridge is near our house. Quincy hates it. He is afraid of bridges. He is afraid of sewer drains and grates as well.
He likes flowers though!

Seedlings
Our seedlings are doing well. Our garden this year should have carrots, basil, tomatoes, spinach, cucumbers, squash, beans, parsley, lavender, thyme, chives, oregano, mint, and more.

Pita Bread
I have been making pita bread lately. It puffs up into a little balloon while in the oven, then collapses flat after taking it out.
Jenny loves them and keeps talking about the pita sandwiches her dad made for her when she was little.
