Jenny is Crafty
Jenny was really proud of the Christmas gift she gave Carla. She wanted to do something special for Carla (because Carla is just awesome) so she handmade her a messenger bag. Jenny designed it and made it from scratch. She didn't even have a pattern.
The inside of the flap is the same blue butterfly pattern you see on the front. Jenny even added a little pencil pocket inside.

Maria's Kids
We made a collage of Maria's three kids, framed it, and gave it to Maria for Christmas. The top left is Ely. Ana is at the top right. Jenny is the bottom.

Photos from Flickr Commons
I browse Flickr Commons daily. I love the gritty, old pictures. Today, I found these:
Egypt: Arabic Window and Native Bazaar, Cair
Collision between two engines, Bay of Quinte Railway, ON, 1892
Paris Exposition: Pont d'Iena and Trocadero Palace, Paris, France, 1900

Woodlands Boat Ride
Saturday night, we went to the Woodlands to go on a boat ride through the canals. Jenny's whole Texas family was there.
As some of you know, Mike proposed to Ana (Jenny's sister). Photos of Mike and Ana are on Maria's blog.

Phishing Scams
Phishing Scams in Plain English from leelefever on Vimeo.
Someone I know recently fell for a phishing scam. This video explains how to recognize and avoid these scams. It only takes 3 minutes.
The video comes from Common Craft. They make videos that explain complicated topics in simple terms.

Jenny and I just got back from Iowa, where we celebrated our Christmas with my family.
My nephew, Payton, entertained everyone the whole time.

Video: Quincy & Milo
Quincy Chases Milo from Theodore Scott on Vimeo.
I recorded this shortly after Hurricane Ike. We went to visit Mila's family, and Quincy got to play with Milo.
I put some of my guitar music on the soundtrack.

Pizzas Rolls
I came up with a variation on my pizza-making. They are long pizza rolls that I slice crosswise to serve. They don't have tomato sauce - just meat, olive oil, and various cheeses. I made the feta cheese one (above) most recently. It was yummy.

Kite Surfer in Mancora, Peru
Kite Surfer in Mancora, Peru from Theodore Scott on Vimeo.
Here is another video from our South American trip. For a couple weeks around Christmas 2007, we stayed in Mancora, Peru. One day I filmed this kite surfer for a while.
The clip is only 30 seconds. The soundtrack is myself on guitar.

Goat Ice Cream
A few days ago, I made vanilla ice cream using goat milk. We bought the milk at the farmers' market from Swede Farm.

Bayou City Farmers Market
Jenny and I have made a habit of going to the Bayou City Farmers' Market in Houston every Saturday.
It is fun. Last week, Jenny's mom joined us. Plus, Jenny and I have both gotten some of our coworkers interested.

December Tomatoes
One benefit of Houston that I hadn't considered when moving here: I can harvest tomatoes in December.
Our two tomato plants (that I transplanted from Idaho) are still producing little yellow pear-shaped tomatoes.

Let It Snow
Jenny has been hard at work decorating our house for Christmas.
We decided to not get a Christmas tree. Instead, Jenny strung a garland around our living room.
Jenny made a bunch of bows and hung them, with ornaments, at the peaks of the garland.
It probably won't snow here.

Thanksgiving Dancing
These pictures are blurry, but I wanted to share them anyway. At Thanksgiving, Maria and Ana were dancing in our kitchen. Then Mila and Carla started. I am not sure why.
Shortly after the above photo was taken, Mila threw Carla to the floor while trying to dip her. Sadly, my camera missed it.

Thanksgiving Food
Thanksgiving was great! Jenny and I hosted about 15 people at our house. They all brought food. Jenny and I made two pumpkin pies (sacrificing the pumpkins you see in the picture), and one apple pie from scratch. I made the crusts while Jenny made the fillings.
We also roasted a 15 pound turkey, baked dinner rolls, and made cranberry-orange sauce.
We wanted to do everything from scratch. It felt better that way.
