Astros

Last night, Maria took took us to an Astros game. It had been a long time since either Jenny or I had been to a baseball game.

Quincy Playing at Milo's House

Tortuga

A few days after the storm, Jenny rescued a wild turtle. She found it on the road in our neighborhood (when she almost ran it over). To keep him safe, she brought him home. A couple days later, we took him to a nearby park and released him.

Storm Damage

The storm didn't hurt our house. As a whole, our neighborhood came out OK. There were a lot of trees knocked down though.

Thank goodness Quincy made it through the storm OK.

Hurricane Ike

As the storm approached...

Electric

Our home lost electricity on September 13th at 2 AM. That was over two weeks ago.

It just came back on!

Getting Back to Normal

After nearly a week and a half off due to hurricane Ike and damages it left behind, Ted and I have gone back to work. A large part of the city (including mom's, Ana's, and our houses) are still without power. Ted and I are hoping to have power by the end of the week.
Luckily, work has power and the servers are back up. I was able to catch up email and news (I had no idea of the turmoil on the stock market).

Thank you all, for your prayers.

Electricity

Our power has flickered a few times.

The wind is getting pretty strong.

Our cell phones still work (even though Maria won't answer when we call).

Maria and Grandkids

Madeleine, Maria, Aurora at our house. Aurora is a little blurry, because she wouldn't sit still.

I took this photo on August 10th. So, I should have posted it a month ago.

The 100th Post!

This is the 100th post on this blog! When we started back in March, Jenny said that her goal was to post once per week. She hasn't quite kept that up, but I picked up the slack.

(I added a strange photo just for kicks. The picture is from 7 years ago, in Iowa. I am playing guitar and harmonica at the same time. I am wearing flannel and a straw hat.)

Aurora & Quincy

Everyone loves puppies and babies.

Hurricane Ike

Hurrican Ike is coming.

Today I had work off. Jenny went to work, but was sent home early.

Right now, we are not going to evacuate. But we are tracking the news. If the city calls for the evacuation of our area, then we will go. We live far enough north that we will should never see the worst of any of these storms.

Maria & Aurora Visit

Maria brought Aurora over for a few hours today. So we forced them outside.

Houston Public Library

Every time I move to a new city, I get a new library card. I finally visited the main Houston branch yesterday. I am surprised that it took me so long.

Immature Animation

Click on the stick figures above. It should do a short little animation that I wasted my time making.

Old Family Pictures

I'm trying to re-organize my growing collection of photos.

Found these buried deep in my computer.
